Dear Neighbors,

I am very excited to be seeking your support for San Mateo City Council!

San Mateo is an amazing community. With its safe neighborhoods, vibrant downtown, diverse residents, great parks, and strong economic climate, I cannot think of a better place to raise my family. But like many cities across the region, ours is also facing a number of challenges: worsening traffic congestion, soaring housing costs, an aging city infrastructure, and threats to long-term fiscal sustainability, to name a few.

I am a strong believer in everyday citizens stepping up and serving their community. Over the years, I have worn many hats in San Mateo, including those of neighborhood advocate, Planning Commissioner, small business owner, San Mateo Little League Manager, and most importantly, father. With your support, I’ll bring a different voice and skillset to our City Council—and that’s why I am the endorsed candidate of leaders from virtually every Neighborhood Association in San Mateo. Most of all, I am running, because I want to help ensure that all the things we love about San Mateo are still here for my young son should he choose to raise his own family here. And with your support and help, I know we can do it.

Thanks for visiting and learning more about what I stand for. Most importantly, please take a moment to contact me to share your perspectives and priorities, or if you would like to host a coffee with your neighbors to discuss issues you are interested in. Looking forward to hearing from you!

P.S.

Update # 3 (Oct. '17): We are heading down the final stretch and ballots should go out today!  Last month, I was thrilled to be the only non-incumbent candidate endorsed by the San Mateo Daily Journal.  And our campaign is now endorsed by the current or past presidents of the following neighborhood associations: Aragon, Baywood, Bay Meadows, Beresford/Hillsdale, Central, Glendale Village, North Central, San Mateo Park, and Sugarloaf. (A full list of all endorsements can be found HERE.)

How can you get involved? We are actively seeking phone banking volunteers.  Please let us know if you have 90 mins to spare-- it could make all the difference.  And of course, we are still accepting donations HERE.  Lastly, we just got our last order of lawn signs in, let us know HERE if you would like one.

Thank you again for all of your help and support!

Update #2 (July '17): Our grassroots campaign is gathering momentum. I am thrilled to report that with your help, we smashed our fundraising goals for the first reporting period! These funds will be essential in helping us get our message out to voters in the coming months. THANK YOU! We are now over halfway to our overall fundraising goal. If you have not yet had a chance to donate, you can do so by visiting the ‘Donate’ link above.

I am also very honored to announce the endorsement of our very own District 2 San Mateo County Supervisor, Carole Groom.  I have so much respect for her and all she has done for our city in her decades of public service. Thank you, Supervisor Groom!

Update #1 (June '17): Thank you so much to everyone who came to our Campaign Kick-Off! I was deeply touched by the turnout and show of support. I wanted to especially thank the members of our Host Committee: State Senator Jerry Hill, Councilmembers Maureen Freschet, Diane Papan & Joe Goethals, Former Mayors Jack Matthews & Claire Mack, Anna & Jay Kuhre, Carol Conroy, Cynthia Newton, Greg St. Claire, Laurie Watanuki, and Ben Toy.
